Description:
The Vietnam War is a prolonged military conflict that starts as an anti-colonial war against the French and evolves into a Cold War confrontation between international communism and free-market democracy. North Vietnam is supported by the Soviet Union, China, and other communist countries, while the United States and its anti-communist allies back South Vietnam. US involvement in the conflict escalates, taking part in a series of intense bombing campaigns and committing hundreds of thousands of US ground troops to the fight.
