Sviatoslav I (1 janv. 930 – 1 janv. 972)

Son of Igor. Father of:
1) Yaropolk I, (Kiev)
2) Oleg (Turov),
3) Vladimir the Great (Novgorod)
Possibly raised by his mother in Novgorod. When she converted to Christianity, he remained pagan. Upon taking independent rule in 961, was at constant war until his death 11yrs later. Historians suggest is was Byzantines who convinced the Turkic Pechenegs to attack and kill Sviatoslav. He died at their hands, and his skull was turned into a goblet.
