1967: Absentee Property Law – This law allowed Israel to seize properties of Palestinians who were displaced during the 1967 war, effectively stripping them of land and resources in the occupied territories. 1980: Jerusalem Law – In 1980, Israel passed the Jerusalem Law, declaring the entire city of Jerusalem, including East Jerusalem, as Israel’s “undivided capital.” This law aimed to annex Palestinian areas of the city and marginalized Palestinian residents through policies that limited their rights to housing, land, and citizenship.

1981: The Civil Administration – Israel established the Civil Administration to govern the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, reinforcing apartheid-like conditions. Palestinians were treated as subjects under military rule, while Israeli settlers in the same regions were governed by Israeli civil law, further entrenching the system of segregation.
