Description:

The Dorian invasion is a divisive topic as not much is really known about it or if it even happened. At around 1200 BCE it is said that a group of people stemming from the north of Greece invaded, wiping out many Greek societies and eventually laying claim to the land as their own. The Dorian invasion is often credited for the fall of the Mycenean empire and for being the birth of the Spartans as many believe the Spartans were their descendants. It is worth noting that much speculation about the Dorians come from 19th and 20th century German archaeologists who believed they were the decendants of the "pure" Dorians.
