Description:

Bloodless Revolution in England
- parliament invites Mary and William of Orange of the Dutch Republic to become monarchs at the expense of James II -> must agree to constitutional monarchy (adhere to a constitution)
- forced to sign a Bill of Rights -> limit their power; increase that of parliament
- Consequences:
- end of divine right justification
- situation of deadlock between king and parliament
- laid basis for creation of parliament
