Description:
Fossil remains of the genus Dryopithecus have been found across Europe;
•Species ranged in weight from between 15 and 45kg;
•Arboreal and quadrupedal, they may have moved via quadrumanous ‘scrambling;’
•They share numerous traits associated with modern apes, including long arms and strong, grasping hands
