Manila Galleons (1 janv. 1565 – 1 janv. 1815)
Description:
Spanish galleons took Asian luxury goods from Manila to Mexico and exchanged them for silver. Most of the silver made its way to China, where a thriving domestic economy depended on silver as a basis of Chinese currency. European merchants exchanged silver for Chinese gold which they traded in Japan for more silver and luxury goods.
