Description:
A prominent historian and Hadith scholar. His most famous work is Tarikh Baghdad (The History of Baghdad), a biographical dictionary of scholars, poets, and figures who lived in or visited Baghdad. It is an invaluable source for the intellectual history of the Abbasid period.
