Georges Albert Maurice Victor Bataille (10 September 1897 – 9 July 1962) was a French intellectual and literary figure working in literature, philosophy, anthropology, economics, sociology and history of art. His writing, which included essays, novels, and poetry, explored such subjects as eroticism, mysticism, surrealism, and transgression. His work would prove influential on subsequent schools of philosophy and social theory, including poststructuralism.people are workers by nature, they need satisfaction, longing for satisfaction or gratification. Thats why they choose to get pleasure out of sex, so its not simply about reproduction. The way humans treat death makes them differer from animals just like eroticism. Humans are diabolistic, conscious of death. Death is linked to sin, which is linked to sexual exaltation, which is linked to erotisicm.
