Beer Hall Putsch (8 nov 1923 – 9 nov 1923)

Description:

On November 8th, 1923 in a Beer hall in Munich, Hitler and his men pushed into a right-wing political meeting. The Nazi party in Germany was small and conspired to overthrow the democratic government. Adolf Hilter and others involved were arrested for treason, Hitler was convicted in April 1924, and sentenced to 5 years in prison but was released in December of that year.
Hitler was inspired by Benito Mussolini’s “March on Rome” which brought fascists to power in Italy in 1922. He then planned to imitate this to overthrow the democratic government called the “March on Berlin”. As known, the Weimar Republic was suffering from losing the war, restrictions, and terms from the Treaty of Versailles, and the economy went down because Germany had to pay respirations.
