suspicious of the USSR’s intentions in Europe especially because of how Stalin’s armies had
occupied most of Eastern Europe
Heavy disagreement between Truman and
Stalin about postwar Germany
The conference was not very successful and
did not achieve anything → “matters” were
the same after the meeting as they had been
before it
