Presidency of James Monroe (4 mars 1817 – 4 mars 1825)

Description:

Elected in 1816, inaugurated in 1824.

Monroe served as Secretary of State under Madison. The Democratic-Republicans won the War of 1812 so Monroe easily beat out the last ever Federalist candidate, Rufus King.
