Description:
New conflicts between Russia and Japan led to the Russo-Japanese War. The Japanese won this war, gaining territory and some international respect.They engaged Russia by a surprise attack on the Russian fleet at Port Arthur. The Japanese army won several land victories.
In May 1905, the fleet under Admiral Togo attracted world attention by defeated the Russians in the Tsushima Strait.
