1917 Balfour Agreement: Britain promises support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine
Britain promised the Arabs AND Jews contradicting things
1920: Britain controls Palestine under the Mandate system
- Jews began to migrate from Europe to Palestine --> increases a lot in the 1930s (German Jews migrate)
- Arabs vs Jews tensions begin
- Both populations start hating the British --> Anti-British sentiment
***Both Jews & Arabs dislike each other but dislike Britain more
