By the end of the Punic Wars, Rome conquered all of Carthage's territory and changed from a republic to an empire.
Carthage, a once powerful empire and rich nation, was no more. They were shocked that Rome, a much younger nation had managed to overtake them. Their people were taken as slaves and forced to serve the Romans who conquered their homeland.
Rome winning Carthage's land brought in a new era of wealth and prosperity for the new Roman Empire.
