Description:
He commissioned a group of trusted cardinals to examine the abuses within the Catholic Church in 1536, then cardinals produced the 1537 Consilium de emendenda ecclesia, which suggested reform. He also called the Council of Trent to address corruption and heresy in 1545 and supported the Jesuit Order.Contributions: Initiating reforms and reaffirming Catholic doctrine
