Berlin Airlift (24 juin 1948 – 12 mai 1949)
Description:
The Berlin Airlift was a major crisis during the Cold War that lasted from June 24th, 1948 until May 12th, 1949. Initially, the Soviet Union stopped all passenger trains and traffic to Berlin and delayed Western and German freight shipments and required all water shipments to be delivered only with Soviet permission. As a result, Britain, France, and the United States joined forces to conduct an airlift to help out those in Germany.
