Gulf of Tonkin Incident (2 août 1964 – 4 août 1964)
Description:
An event where Vietnamese forces attacked US destroyers unprovoked on August 2nd. Though there was little evidence or information as to why North Vietnamese forces attacked the destroyers, misinterpretation of reports led to President Lyndon B.
