Description:
The Woodstock Music and Art Fair was held in upstate New York. Promoters expected the to attract up to 200,000 for the weekend, but nearly a half a million people converged on the concert site. Woodstock was a stridently antiwar spectacle and signaled the merger and ambivalence of the counterculture and protest.
