Woodstock (15 août 1969 – 17 août 1969)
Description:
The Woodstock Music and Art Fair was held in upstate New York. Promoters expected the to attract up to 200,000 for the weekend, but nearly a half a million people converged on the concert site. Woodstock was a stridently antiwar spectacle and signaled the merger and ambivalence of the counterculture and protest. The festival was billed as "three days of peace and love," in contrast to the war and hatred in Vietnam.
