Death of Nizam-ul-Mulk(Hyderabad)

French + Muzaffar Jang(Hyderabad) + Chanda Sahib(Carnatic)
vs
English + Nasir Jang(nawab of Hyderabad) + Anwar-ud-din(nawab of Carnatic)

- Battle of Ambur(near Vellore) in 1749 - Combined army defeated and killed Anwar-ud-din .French won initially, and Dupleix was conferred the title of Nawab by Muzaffar Jang.

- Dupleix was recalled in 1754 due to the initial defeat of the French Army in the 2nd Carnatic War. Godeheu succeeded him. Adopted policy of negotiation with English
- English and French agreed not to interfere in the Quarells of native princes
- Treaty of Ponducherry
