In 1840, the Whig Party nominated Tyler as vice-president candidate William Henry Harrison, promoting themselves as ''Tippecanoe and Tyler Too'' ( Harrison fought in the battle of Tippecanoe). Harrison and Tyler won the election, and were inaugurated in March 1841Ajouté au bande de temps:
