Description:
On this day, Hitler launched his troops eastward to invade the Soviet Union. The invasion covered two thousand miles, from the North Cape to the Black Sea. This was the turning point in World War II for its failure forced the Nazis to fight a two-front war against Russia, who had very strong military resources.
