First Intifadah (8 déc. 1987 – 13 sept. 1993)
Description:
First Palestinian Intifada (revolution) was a sustained series of protests and violent riots carried out by Palestinians in the Palestinian Territories and Israel.
This was as a result of increased frustration as there was a large amount of settlers coming in to take homes and lands of the Palestinians within their own territories without consent. Zionist settlers were more than always accompanied by IDF soldiers.
Palestinians had decided to rise up and fend for themselves with the involvement of Hamaas and the lack of action from the PLO /Sultah
Over the 6 years of this revolution, the IDF killed an estimated 1200 Palestinians with many being innocent civilians caught in the crossfire out of pure ignorance and purposefulness.
