Description:
On August 6, 1945, a B-29 bomber dropped the world's first deployed bomb, Little Boy, on Hiroshima. This explosion wiped out over 90 percent of the city and killed well over 50,000 people. Three days later, another bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki, which killed 40,000. Six days after the second bomb was dropped, Hirohito announced Japan's unconditional surrender in World War II.
