Description:
The Cold War was an open yet weapons restricted conflict between The Soviet Union and the United States. Beginning after World War II, the Soviet Union began to install leftwing governments in Eastern Europe, and fearing Soviet domination and spread, the US began the Marshall Plan to bring Western Europe under their influence. The Cold War continued on with both sides overthrowing ideologically opposite governments and preserving their influence, as well as continuing to develop nuclear capability. However in the 60’s and 70’s relations began to ease and with Gorbachev getting into power in the 80s, the Soviet Union became less authoritarian and more capitalist.Ajouté au bande de temps:
