World war 1 was an international war caused by the assassination of Arch Duke Ferdinand. The Arch Duke was shot by Serbian nationalists, which would result in Austria-Hungary invading Serbia, which would result in Germany joining Austria-Hungary, whilst France, Russia, and Britain all declaring war on Austria-Hungary and Germany. The war would be one of the first modern conflicts in history, using various tactics such as trench warfare and the creation and evolution of air and tank combat. The war would end on November 11th, 1918, which would result in Germany being stuck with extreme amounts of debt, mainly due to the dissolution of Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman empire, as well as Bulgaria being let off easy because the triple entente wanted to keep the Balkans out of debt. The war resulted in massive advancements in warfare technology, as well as civilian technology like zippers, wristwatches, and blood banks.
