Description:

During the period known as the slow creep forwards, formerly minor powers began to form their own space programs and aim for the moon.

China would become the first nation to land on the moon since the cold war's space race when their Chang-e lander touched down on the Lunar Surface in 2013, followed behind a decade later by India in 2023. Following Indias touchdown other nations caught up in quick succession in the mid 2020's as Israel, then
the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, South Africa, and then Australia all eventually followed suit with lunar rover programs. For more information, read the corresponding bracket in the geopolitical history section.
