"And they will know that I am God" is repeated 60 times in Ezekiel. This means that God will bring his people back to him.
God calls Ezekiel to be a watchmen for the people. Just like a watchman warns the people about coming danger, Ezekiel must warn the people of coming exile if they do not return to God. If he fails this call then he will bear the consequences of there sins.
