Description:
Chiang Kai-shek was the Chairman of the National Military Council during the Second Sino-Japanese War. He was fighting against Mao Tse Tsung for power of China and was the main resistor of Japanese imperialism. Although he had once been president, was impeached because he arrested Hu Hanim, a leader during revolutionary China. During the war, he received support from Allied Powers, and held the title of Generalissimo while chairing the Military Affairs Commission/National Military Council (which commanded the army). After the war he continued to hold the title Generalissimo until his death. In addition, for a brief period of time he succeeded Lin Sen as the president of China.
