Description:

Francois Marie Arouet was a French philosopher and writer who is more known by his second name, Voltaire. He discussed religious tolerance, in which anyone could follow any religion they wished to follow, and wrote the Candide in 1759, in which he created the famous "tend your own garden" statement, meaning that one should not focus on what does not apply to themselves. He also believed in the idea of free speech, where he stated that everyone should have the ability to speak freely without being imprisoned or killed by the government due to it.
