Thomas Hobbes (5 avr. 1588 – 4 déc. 1679)

Description:

Hobbes was an English writer and thinker who lived through an English war, which led him to create the concept of absolutism or the idea of absolute power for a single individual. He wrote about this concept in his 1651 book, Leviathan. He also formed the idea of a social contract, in which an agreement would be reached between a government or leader and the people of a country, roughly stating that both sides would agree not to fight or kill each other.
