EGYPTIAN CHRONOLOGY THROUGH ASTRONOMICALLY DATED SYNCHRONISMS by Gerard GertouxShepseskaf (4:7). Shepseskaf's reign is attested through the funerary inscriptions made by the officials who served him. The fact that many of these inscriptions only mention Shepseskaf without further details hints at the short duration of his reign in agreement with the value of 4 years (TC) rather than the 8 years (+/- 4 years) duration of astronomy (Dodson, Hilton: 2010, 288).
