Nicolaus Copernicus (1 janv. 1473 – 1 janv. 1543)
Description:
Nicolaus Copernicus was a Polish astronomer and mathematician, famous for his work On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres(1543). He proposed a heliocentric system, which meant by itself that the Sun is in the center, and the planets revolve around it. This discovery became very controversial, because it diverged from Ptolemy's geocentric theory, but ultimately turned out to be correct.
