Giovanni Pierluigi Da Palestrina (Italy) (1 janv. 1525 – 1 janv. 1594)
Description:
Palestrina received his training as a chorister at S Maria Maggiore in Rome at a young age, and was an accomplished organist. He enjoyed working for the Pope until being dismissed on account of being married. His influence during the latter half of the sixteenth century was extraordinary, serving during the Council of Trent and being the musical leader of the Counter-Reformation.
