Bank War (1 janv. 1832 – 1 janv. 1836)
Description:
Conflict between Jackson and head of federal bank Biddle. Jackson wanted to eliminate it entirely, because he believed it only helped the elite class. Biddle unsuccessfully tried to renew the charter for the bank. Bank shutdown in 1836 after it expired, replaced by state banks.
