Stone Age (1 janv. 15000 av. J.-C. – 1 janv. 250 av. J.-C.)

Description:

The Stone Age was a broad prehistoric period during which stone was widely used to make stone tools with an edge, a point, or a percussion surface. The period lasted for roughly 3.4 million years, and ended between 4,000 BC and 2,000 BC, with the advent of metalworking.

End date: 2000 BC

Early in the Stone Age, humans lived in small, nomadic groups. During much of this period, the Earth was in an Ice Age—a period of colder global temperatures and glacial expansion. Mastodons, saber-toothed cats, giant ground sloths and other megafauna roamed.
