Great Depression (4 janv. 1929 – 26 févr. 1939)
Description:
The Great Depression had a significant impact on World War II in several ways. Firstly, the economic conditions created by the depression helped to create an environment in which the rise of extremist political movements became possible. In Europe, the economic struggles of the 1930s provided fertile ground for the growth of fascist and authoritarian regimes, such as those led by Hitler in Germany, Mussolini in Italy, and Franco in Spain. These regimes were able to exploit the economic and social discontent of their citizens to gain power and pursue aggressive foreign policies, leading to the outbreak of World War II.
