Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Emergence in Southeastern Mexico (1 janv. 2015 – 1 janv. 2020)

Description:

Despite current control efforts, leishmaniasis remains a neglected public health problem, primarily in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Anthropogenic activities that disrupt natural ecosystems will continue to influence the disease's emergence and reemergence, particularly in tropical areas. The evidence presented here highlights the presence of human leishmaniasis cases in several Yucatan municipalities where local transmission of the disease had previously not occurred.
