Description:
The Mexican American War, also known as the Invasion of Mexico, arose from the unresolved border disputes between the United Statesand Mexico after the Texas Annexation by the United States. It ended in 1848 through the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in which Mexico was forced to sell Alta California and New Mexico to the United States for $15 million, which was far below the material worth of the territory.Additionally, Díaz first joined the military during this time period.
