Marshall Plan (8 mars 1948 – 2 mai 1961)
Description:
The US program to support reconstruction of Western Europe post World War 2. They poured in $20 billion into economic aid. This plan healed the society of Western Europe, preventing it from falling to the Communist movement, which was gaining strength and power due to the failing European society and its promises of a better life. It also established the US as the dominant economic power of the area and contributed to the first major confrontation of the Cold War, the Berlin Blockade.
