March From Selma to Montgomery (7 mars 1965 – 21 mars 1965)
Description:
The march began when about 600 people gathered in Selma on March 7, 1965. When the state troopers came face to face with the demonstrators, that day became known as Bloody Sunday. In Selma, African Americans made up nearly half of the population, yet only two percent were registered to vote. The demonstrators marched to demand fairness in voter registration.
