He was the last king of Israel. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. Hoshea was paying tribute to Shalmaneser, king of Assyria. Hoshea stopped paying tribute. And He joined forces with the king of Egypt. Shalmaneser was mad and he attacked Hoshea. And put siege Samaria for three years.
