Description:

Hoshea reigned for 9 years.
He was evil, but not like the kings before him.
"And he [Hoshea] did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, yet not as the kings of Israel who were before him." (2 Kings 17:2)
a. The king of Assyria put him in prison and besieged Samaria for 3 years and then captured it.
