When Jehoram took over as King he killed all his brothers so there would be no competition. His death relates to Elijah's prophesy because Elijah said he would die painfully with his bowels coming out, and that is just what happened. Jehoram did evil in the sight of the Lord.2 chronicles 21: 15
You yourself will be very ill with a lingering disease of the bowels, until the disease causes your bowels to come out.’”
