Description:

Omri reigned for 12 years.
He was more evil than all the kings before him.
"For [Omri] he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in the sins that he made Israel to sin, provoking the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger by their idols." (1 Kings 16:26)
a. i. For part of his reign, the people of Israel were divided. Some followed Tibni, and some followed Omri. Eventually the people following Omri overcame the followers of Tibni and Tibni died and Omri became king.
ii. Omri bought the hill of Samaria and built a city on it (Samaria).
