Sit-Ins (1 févr. 1960 – 1 févr. 1964)
Description:
i. Sit-Ins started when four black students from North Carolina A&T College sat in at a Woolworth lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina.
ii. The media covered these events and show black people peacefully sitting in a restaurant while they were screamed at by white people. This showed the white people are crazy and unrational which won some of the public the sit of the Civil Rights Movement.
iii. Sit-Ins were successful as they brought a lot of attention to the cause of the protesters. The outcome was that it brought pride and power to African Americans and brought change at a local level.
