Brown vs board of education (9 déc. 1954 – 17 mai 1955)
Description:
The US supreme court ruled that segregation in school went against the 14th amendment.
The phrase separate but equal meant that they said everyone was equal but they were still segregated. The NAACP said that schools had to prove that everyone had the same things.
This case is seen as the start of the Civil Rights movement because it is showing how terrible it is even in schools.
