World War I (28 juill. 1914 – 11 mai 1918)

Description:

Caused by Nationalism, arm build ups, and the alliance system in europe, thte eventual start of the war started with the assassination of Franz Ferdinand leading Austria-Hungry to force Serbia to declare war. Putting into effect the alliance system with Germany & Austria-Hungry against Russia, France, and Great Britain. This war became one of the deadliest with 10 million soldier and 10 million civilians dying. (90 of all young French men either killed or wounded). Ended with the Treaty of Versailles that blamed Germany and had them pay restitutions which would lead to the second world war.
