Description:
-Became a Roman emperor in 312AD after defeating Maxentius-Declared himself a Christian
-Legend explains that he saw a vision of a cross before his victorious battle
-His morals and syncretism would have some question the authenticity of his conversion
-He ceased all persecution, declared Sunday a public holiday, and organized councils to unify doctrine
-His mother built many churches to commemorate holy sites
