French and Indian War (3) (28 mai 1754 – 10 févr. 1763)

Description:

(1754-1763) Nine-year war between the British and the French in North America. It resulted in the expulsion of the French from the North American mainland and helped spark the Seven Years' War in Europe. (104)

Causes of the War: Stared in 1754 as George Washington was sent to challenge/stop French expansion. Most natives sided with the French (well they did have the best relationship with th French). Thus making it Fench and Indian War (against Britain/colonists).

Paris Treaty of 1763 was passed: Britain ganed all of French land (east of the Mississippi river: Florida,east of Txas, etc). While Spanish gained the west. [Now only Spanish and Britain had land in North America]

Economic Impacts of the War:
Britain is in Massove Debt: as a result began to tax colonist --> End of salutary Neglect

BIG IDEAS AFTER WAR:
Balance of power shifts in North America. N.A lost traded partners with France. Tensions increased between Britain and the colonies since Britain wanted to share the responsibilities and debt after the war
